So, today, I was that guy. At our North Carolina, small town AutumnFest, I walked up to the local Dems tent, in my golf shirt, Cubs hat, near-50 unshaven white maleness, and the look in the eye of the wonderful black gentleman working the tent was one of, "Oh god, here we go."

And I happily bought my ",la" t-shirt. Dude was so honest. "Man, I didn't think that's what you were gonna do." And we laughed together. I apologized. And we laughed again.

I asked, "How's business?" And his response gave me hope in NC. "We've been so busy," he said. "We've been talking to people nonstop. People keep coming up. We had to go get more signs to give away."

One of those signs? It reads, Harris on top line, Walz on the second...and "Obviously" on a third.

Wonderful.

And then, he said:

"Everything's perilous. We can't let up. We have to go. We have to keep talking to folks. We've got a chance."

Hope. I have hope.

At least I've never been stereotyped as a potential troublemaker. I just the random Southern male who wants to strike up a conversation with me thinking I'll agree with him.

Trump promised to change the name back to Bragg.
Lots of layers to this onion.

I would have never named it Bragg in the first place. I wouldn't have changed from Bragg, either, because I don't like renaming things whether it's for a good reason or not. It just creates confusion. Half the people call it one thing; the other half call it the other. When I hear Fort Liberty, I have to think for a minute where that is. The locations and businesses around Fayetteville that have Bragg in their name haven't changed. Plus, every time there is an election are we going to the expense of rebranding things? That is logistically insane.
At this point, if something has been renamed, leave it alone. If something hasn't been renamed, leave it alone.
