    Couple of problems here.
    1) Most of the process takes place before the new House gets sworn in. By Jan. 3, the electors will have met and have done whatever they're going to do. Or not do.
    2) Even in the most optimistic scenario of total House partisan composition, the Trumpists will hold the majority of the House delegations in 28 states. Dems would have 21. Minnesota would be even at 4-4. I don't know what they'd do, but it won't matter. One state, one vote. Yep, North Fucking Dakota has as much say in this process as California, Texas, New York or Florida.
    3) The issue isn't so much battleground states as Harris-won states with Trumpist governors. While there's a theoretical chance that group amounts to six states holding 42 electoral votes between them, the true threat isn't that dire. The more likely scenario involves three states and 23 votes. They are Virginia (13), where the governor is a despicable opportunist with overt political ambitions beyond his single, non-renewable term; New Hampshire (4), where Gov. Sununu has been converted (blackmailed) from a reasonable person to a Trump acolyte; and Nevada (6), which is, well, home to the most corrupt snake pit west of Louisiana.

McCain hosted, I think sometime between 2004 and when he ran for himself in 2008 and it was one of the funnier episodes by a non-performer that I've ever seen, which included a hilarious "Hardball" sketch in which he made fun of someone in his own party, John Ashcroft.

I'm sure there are any number of reasons not to lionize the guy too much, but I bet he was pretty good company when he was having a good time.

I remember McCain being pretty good. It turned out Obama won big. But just before the 2008 election, I remember thinking it was anybody’s ballgame. It was such a more civil time, at least in retrospect.

Trump also hosted SNL during his presidential run.

Yes, a year before election day ... badly. Hilary did a cameo a month before that.

My only add on the Iowa Poll is that even if it is way off, it will put Trump into one of his manic turns for at least 36 hours. That’s enough time for him to do some really stupid stuff.
