President Biden: The NEW one and only politics thread

Expect some delays out of Wisconsin because of an issue in Milwaukee. They have to recount absentee ballots due to an issue with the tabulators. This is the proper move, but it will delay the count and likely lead to some false fraud allegations.

 

Nuggets from the mid-afternoon exit poll release starting to trickle out. A couple of things caught my attention.

 

This is such a bizzaro time on any election day. Every single voter interview determines the election. The exit polls take outsized weight. It's the nature of the beast.

I'll take any positivity I can get. But exit polls, I think, have outlived their usefulness. Just ask President John Kerry.

 

Exit polls are largely meaningless, especially the initial ones.

 

The polls are still open in all 50 states and DC. How can an exit poll have validity? Too many voters stilkl haven't reached the entrance.

 

The guy on CNN, last voting for Obama and skipping 16 & 20, said he voted Trump b/c of his No Tax on Overtime promise.

The Pilot Decision Desk is nearing an official prediction, and he's afraid he won't need to stay up beyond midnight Eastern to see it realized.

(I'm definitely I'm being irrational here, but...)

Fine. After I voted, I asked myself who I voted for. Harris got 100% of my vote.
I’ve seen enough to call it. Harris wins in a landslide.

 

The afternoon release doesn’t give the “whodja vote for?” numbers. It reflects the opinions of those interviewed. The 2016 exits were when I first noticed Clinton’s numbers with blacks and Hispanics weren’t so hot.

 

If these exit polls are close to accurate, Trump wins. Not by a lot, but he wins.

 

It also includes early voters and phone interviews with those who vote by mail.
