Trump currently has two million fewer votes in 2024 than he did in 2020. They didn't turn out in record numbers.

The problem is that Democrats care about looking like hypocrites. Republicans don’t.

If Obama and the Dems tried codifying Roe, Republicans would have been, “Why do you need to codify Roe? Isn’t Roe enough by itself? By codifying Roe, aren’t you admitting SCOTUS is wrong?” So Dems sit back, and watch SCOTUS overturn Roe anyways.

Republicans, on the other hand, don’t care. They’ve spent decades bleating about state’s rights, especially when it came to Roe. Now they got Dobbs, and now they want a federal ban. When it’s pointed out to them that they were previously against federal abortion laws, their response is merely “fuck you.”

Dems tried their best on the abortion issue. They brought in women who were harmed. They brought in that girl who was impregnated after being molested. But, no pun intended, they aren’t willing to hit below the belt.

An undocumented immigrant kills a young woman: “Yeah, too bad the fucking killer wasn’t aborted instead. Immigration status doesn’t kill people; people kill people.”

Undocumented immigrants “invading” the border: “The states that have banned abortion say there’s plenty of room for more people. So let them in.”

Dems need to stop trying to be the nice party. Nice parties finish last.

This is not directed at you, Inky, it's a general point of order that applies to many posts here. Probably at least 15 million votes remain to be counted, mostly from Washington, Oregon and California mail ballots. The numbers for each candidate will go up as that proceeds.

California still has 8 million+ votes to count. Arizona has about a million. Colorado about 800,000. Oregon and Washington about 500,000 each. Those are just the "known" votes. I'm not sure if they know how many mail ballots are still out.

The main race is called, so people are assuming THESE are the numbers. They aren't. The final ones just won't change the result.

As a point of reference, here are the reported totals from 2020 on Thursday after election day.

    Any votes missing here??

Except when you hear from MAGAs about state border patrols for pregnant women and government pregnancy registrations, that’s considered backwards. When you hear about MAGAs talking about banning birth control, that’s backwards. Not to mention, fascist.

Abortion has to do with pregnancy. Anything to do with pregnancy is healthcare. Therefore, abortion is healthcare.

True, but that comes back to the Dems not hammering it home. I live in a New Gilead state, and the local and state dems never seemed to make any public awareness where the money for new dams and bridges was coming from.

Exact opposite of what Stinky did. He took credit every time.

So in their minds, Trump made good use of my tax dollars. The democrats spent it onXYZ.

The Democratic Party as currently constituted should disband. Blow the whole thing up. Melt it down.

Current "democrats" in Congress should be told to organize their own caucuses. Meet with whoever you want. Vote for whatever you want.

State and local governments: you're on your own. Try to stay out of prison.

All "celebrities" wishing to say anything on politics should just shut up. Put a sock in it. This will probably be accomplished for you by the MSM, which I expect will adopt a blanket embargo policy on all that stuff.

Can we shush Nancy Pelosi now like she shushed The Squad that one time?

Are Democrats allowed to be funny again? Or is virtuous misery the order for the next four years as well? Will the podcasts come with 11 minutes of rehearsed disclaimers of all the people who might be offended by a climate change joke?

We don't even have interesting rock music any more. Or sitcoms where lines don't end on an up voice.
