The last part of that is absolutely untrue.

I couldn't speak to the rest of it.

At any rate, I'm not interested in an angels and devils conversation.

Another thing to chew on, which some of you will not like.

One of the underlying themes I hear from Trump is they hate the “system.” They call non Trump republicans part of the “uniparty.”

Their general hate is toward the idea of cooperation. To them, it’s win or die.

However, the hate started out on non belief in the system.

The Dems found amazing success when running people who were not preordained. Clinton wasn’t the frontrunner in 1992, and Obama was not the favorite to start in 2008.

Both of them tapped outside status. The last three Dem candidates have been DC insiders.

It should be noted the Reps ran their own insiders against Obama and Clinton and lost handedly.

So Dems can run the same old shit in 2028 or try something new.

I say Beshear should skip the Senate race because Dems always lose them there and run for pres.

Well 2020 had fresh unexpected faces but everyone was so scared of not hitting the exhaust port of the Death Star that they went with the most experienced pilot. Maybe somebody else would have done even better, but nobody was interested in taking that risk.

2024 was more like having a starting pitcher go sour in a tight game. You can’t turn to the waiver wire in the middle of a game, so you have to use the one arm available in the bullpen.

and fair points, but one can make an argument that Biden would go down in history much better as the guy who stepped aside after righting the ship.

Instead, he was the starting pitcher who had a blister on his thumb, a sore hip and ate his lunch at Taco Bell, but didn’t say anything until the seventh inning even though he was hurting badly.

Love him for trying to gut it out…but still.

I was doing okay til Tuesday....so:

I try so hard not to get upset
Because I know all the trouble I'll get
Oh, he tells me thoughts are something to hide
    And something to fear
And I try so hard to keep it inside
    So no one can hear

Hush hush, keep it down now, voices carry
Hush hush, keep it down now, voices carry
Hush hush, keep it down now, voices carry

He listens, but only part of the time
He listens, if Putin is on the line

    Hush, hush - voices carry
He said lock her up - he said lock her up
Oh God can't you keep it down
    Voices carry
    Hush hush, voices carry

2020 had some fresh faces, but none of them stood out from the crowd.

I was a big Elizabeth Warren fan, but she was a variation of Bernie and both of them have a ceiling. The US is not ready for full on progressive presidential candidates. Their appeal beyond highly educated, suburban white people is limited. Sanders had some crossover appeal with blue collar workers, but not with any sizeable population of color.

    Klobuchar was Clinton-lite.

Bloomberg tried to buy his way in. In a sense, so did Steyer and Yang.

Patrick, Bennet, Beto, Harris, and others never got off the ground and almost all of those candidates have disappeared other than Harris. Beto is irrelevant now.

The only candidate who made an impression was Buttigieg, and he was far too inexperienced as a 38 year old mayor of South Bend.

The reason everyone coalesced around Biden was because he was the only truly serious candidate for the general election. Sanders has a ceiling. America is not ready for his policies. I wish it was. But it just isn't.

I renewed my Rams season seats for 2025 today (4th row of 500 level). No increase in season seat prices for 2025.
No wonder I can't relate to Trump voters.

It is entirely likely that had Biden stepped down in January and there'd been the usual primary process, Harris would've been the nominee anyway. She'd have run and Biden would've almost surely endorsed her. And she'd have faced the same problems in the general election.

In America, we punish politicians for things they didn’t do and don't punish politicians for things they did do

There’s no such thing as “the uniparty.” The idea the idea that both parties are the same on any level is just something morons say because they think it sounds smart.
