Well yeah. We already establish it would have to have been a white dude. Plus he’s even older than Biden!

Usually the Dow does great when most people are miserable. You'll see the Dow spike when unemployment spikes.

This was what Jim Clyburn knew in 2020.

I look at the possibles for '28 and...Mayor Pete? No. Whitmer? No. Newsom? (Didn't we just try an SF liberal?), Shapiro? Mark Kelly? Beshear?
I know Cory Booker has really been out there raising money. South Carolina being the first primary state on the Dem schedule now really changes things.

Fun trivia - only one vice presidential candidate has lost and later been elected President. Who is it?

Richard Nixon. A man who looks like a saint compared to our president-elect.

I meant to check how many posts I was behind since early Wednesday morning, which was the last time I checked in here, but I just went to the most recent page instead. I'm not sure I have the stomach to return to this thread again. I'm so demoralized and heartbroken over all of this. This guy, of all people. This guy. Again.

Nixon won as Ike's VP. lost when running for President, then won. FDR was James Cox's running mate in '20 and later won the big job.

Newsom will have two things going for him (well, 3 but one is superficial)

    1) he’s termed out in 26. He’ll have two years to not have actual policy decisions and can shape his narrative

    2) he won’t be connected to Biden like Harris. He’s not tipping the scales in Texas but he’ll have similar ideas that people liked with Harris but won’t be blamed for the price of eggs.

Shapiro will have better sway in the rust belt and coastal liberals will fall in line to stop Vance. But Newsom will have more money (I presume). I wouldn’t discount him out of hand. He’s also going to be 60-year-old handsome which can’t hurt when compared to couch fucking Vance.
