Agree with your last sentence — but it won’t be because of Trump’s retaliation against the media. He’s not that competent.

No, what I’m afraid will happen is Trump’s actions will torpedo the U.S. economy, and that will shut down more mainstream media outlets than anything else.

Once upon a time, presidents had SecDefs like Harold Brown, a nuclear physicist with a doctorate from Columbia. Brown had been the director of the Lawrence Livermore Lab, had major roles at the Pentagon (including Secretary of the Air Force) and was president of Cal Tech for eight years before getting the SecDef job.

Nowadays a cable TV hack from the world of angertainment who abuses alcohol and women, a pathetic "anti-woke" jagoff who has never run anything a fraction of the size of the Pentagon might very well become SecDef.

The man who nominated Brown got stomped in reelection. And the boss of the Fox News guy? Well, he won twice by being so darn sympathetic to the working people of America.

I'm sure they will. His actions, combined with many media companies already-precarious financial positions (even without any Trump threats or follows-through of threats to their licenses/existence) are already causing too much reliance by people on Fox News, and it NEVER shuts up, with it's twisted-like-a-pretzel blaming of EVERYTHING on Biden, Democrats, liberals, etc. It's just incredible how lop-sided and not-straight the coverage of any topic they bring up is. People will never hear otherwise from the media-to-come.

I'll be really curious to see what happens when Trump takes office and HE will have to be responsible for whatever happens. Hannity's going to make himself sick with dizziness, trying to spin things in some positive way. Unless mob-boss Trump and his henchmen-Cabinet actually manage to do all the things they say they're going to do, and they have some sort of positive impact. Then, I'm sure Hannity and friends will be positively thrilled and boast/celebrate right along with the President.

But, more likely, things will just get more and more screwed up by Trump, and Hannity will just keep reaching back and blaming Biden.

Hoping all the union types who voted for Trump will enjoy the results. My goodness. What a disgrace. They could have both stayed home, one of them could have and let Harris break the tie. My guess is their next employers made it a condition of employment.

Here's a bit of delicious irony about Trump's plan to pardon the 1/6 crowd. They have to plead guilty to the criminal charges first, according to the Justice Department. You don't get a "get out of jail" free card unless you agree that you did something to deserve to be there in the first place. If you're not convicted, you don't get to be pardoned. Which means all the people trying to delay their trials until after the inauguration are doing time anyway.

    OOPS!

the word is manchin wasn’t supposed to be there and came back to vote no. I think they thought sinema would show either and Harris was back in town to break the tie

I wonder if they also thought Vance wouldnt show because he has at been there since the election

Yeah, how about setting some, you know, basic major fucking qualification levels for all these Cabinet jobs and ambassador roles? Is that really too fucking hard to ask for? A Dollar General manager can get a Cabinet seat next week if he gives Fucko two or three blowies.

Oh god, the media situation's going to be even worse than I thought. Trump has nominated Kari Lake to direct the Voice of America broadcast. Yeah, this is a guy doing a takeover. He will not care about our country.

Donald Trump announces new role for Kari Lake

I'm sure Zuckerberg will be next up for a position. He just donated $1 million to Trump's inaugural fund. Unquestioning loyalty and/or lots of money -- that's all it takes.
