What is a "vast majority"? Would you say 80 percent? 90? Let's say 90. That means 5 percent of Trump supporters would not approve. That means it'd be 45 percent approval at best, not exactly a majority. I would also suggest you look into moving into a different social circle.

It's not even that broad and accepting.

If the old racism didn’t bother them, the new racism won’t either.

Also a way to avoid what could be a large anti-Trump rally on the 20th. Inauguration Day is also Martin Luther King Jr. Day and I believe a large event honoring King is scheduled in D.C. Most of that crowd is not pro-Trump.

The day to stage a large anti-Trump rally was November 5.

Yes, and unfortunately not enough participated — at least in the handful of states that mattered.

So now the question is are we lefties going to just give up and take it for the next four (or more) years? Or are we going to be active in our opposition?

A protest or rally doesn't solve anything. All of those pink pussy hats eight years ago and what did it accomplish? Not one goddamned thing other than making us look like toddlers. Organize, develop a real game plan with a message beyond "other guy sucks! Vote for us!" and build momentum. Protests are bullshit. It also makes us look like them on January 6.

What I still don’t get is how these people who voted for Trump thought he would fix their economy complaints. I’ll never understand that. I guess they drank the Koolaid.

I don’t disagree with any of this. But I also won’t kid myself about being a political organizer. I’m a journalist so I have to support those who are organizing, and even then on the down low.

No pink pussy hats on my head, unfortunately!
