Canada better be careful. Before it knows what's happening, Trump will be letting Russia attack it, with nothing standing in the way.

Not right now. Not while Trump has been demonizing gays and women.

I don't think nothing can stop Trump, but for sure the Democrats in the Senate can't. Make that won't. Chuck Schumer's voting for the CR, against the vast majority of his caucus. He must have enough votes to insure cloture. What a gutless piece of shit. I hope the other Democrats who support him are all primaried. I for sure will be giving no money to any Senate Democrat. They should've stripped Schumer of leadership six seconds after his announcement. I'm through with being led by cowards. Hundreds of thousands of people at a minimum will die because of this administration, and all Schumer can think of is making it all go away by pretending he has no power to deal with it. OK, fine. Then take his title, take his alleged power, and give it to someone who'll use it.

Somebody on Bluesky just said what I meant a whole lot better and shorter. Republicans are the mass shooter and Democrats are the Uvalde cops.

I thought of this the other day: the Dems response to this administration is the same response GOP has with its thoughts and prayers after every mass shooting.

    Same goddamn thing.

I really hope Chuck doesn't think the public will give the Dems any credit for doing the "responsible" thing. And at minimum, AT MINIMUM, not one Democrat should vote for the funding bill until EVERY LAST GOP SENATOR votes Aye. Don't give the Rand Pauls and Mike Lees of the world to get off easy.

And my goodness Sen. Coach is getting a lot of airtime these days, likely because no other GOP Senators want to be shown supporting Trump on TV.

Schumer is saying that a shut down lets Trump and Elmo decide who is "an essential worker" and who gets furloughed because of the budget. He also says that Trump may let the shutdown run long, because reason one goes a good way toward shutting down those who would oppose him. It also gives them an excuse to cut spending on SocSec, Medicare, Medicaid.

It's a terrible stinking choice. My instinct is to vote it down and let the R's twist in the wind, but we're all going to be left hanging. Add that the voters are stupid and many will buy Trump's "The Dems voted to shut the government down" bullshit.

Tubs is too damn stupid to understand that. That and he represents Alabama.

My FN senator. Make me want to puke every time I think about it.
