I'd like to think that only a true rube would pay the cover price. You can get a nice print-digital subscription to the New Yorker or like $50 for six months. I have that and still don't get my money's worth bc a lot of their content is just not of interest to me.

True to form with bump stocks, the WH can't even turn out good news without bungling it. That guy could screw up a one-float parade.

A thoughtful post deserves a thoughtful response, which, at some point, I'll provide in greater detail.

Initially I'll say this: I can write plenty on the villainy of the right. Fox News is pernicious. Trump is pernicious. I've never had much use for National Review, the NY Post, Red State, certainly not the hideous Info Wars, any of that, and I'd agree that, certainly, the light they've cast on many liberals in America is ugly and distorting and has, to some degree, led rural America astray.

But if I'm honest, I think that's just shooting fish in a barrel on this site any more, and, additionally, shooting fish in barrel as it relates to the media in general. It's just echo chamber talk. I'm not that interested in where we've been but where we're going.

I'll attempt and perhaps fail to unpack this at some other time, but one concept I reject is that there's some big divide between politicians, cultural figures, entertainers and liberal bloggers. That all blurs for me. Especially now, with Trump. Or, for that matter, with the organizers of the March for our lives Rally, the funding of which came from Clooney, Spielberg and Oprah, among others. It's all intertwined now. It's not the Parkland kids who funded their own way to DC. It was movie people and talk show hosts.

That rancid jar of marmalade wearing a poorly-tailored suit has an expiring shelf life. Reuniting the US electorate will take decades.

S&P down another two percent today. Did you buy on the dips this week? Last week?
If you did, you are left holding the bag.
