I don’t think the president has as much control over the markets as the public presumes. But I’m far from an expert. This time , a common narrative suggests a link between the fall of the market and tariffs.
Is that fair? I have no clue.
I disagree with the idea that falling markets strip Trump of his best re-election hope. People who voted for Trump did so because they like his apparent confidence, his disdain for women and his general racism. They voted for an act. That’s not going away. If the Democrats don’t put forth a viable challenger, the country will be even more damaged.

I didn't even listen to it and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the country would have been better off with Jeb Bush as president. But that's such a low hurdle to clear because ANYONE would be better than Trump.

Obviously, fake news. Drumpf wouldn't have left any cookies in the jar on the counter.

"Donald Trump is dangerous and unfit for office. Nearly every member of the House of Representatives knows this. I bet that every single senator does. History’s eyes are on them, as are the world’s right now. The longer they pretend not to see, the greater the contempt they will earn—and the danger they will invite."

Trump saw a chance to declare a victory, absorb some adulation for "bringing the troops home", and to distract from his terrible, horrible week.

    That's a hell of a piece.

Pres gets too much credit and too much blame, but Trump ran to stake out the territory, that the market under Trump was bigger and better than under Obama. Anyone with a lick of sense looked at it and thought that was kinda dumb, because markets go up and down and can't go up forever.

If he was going to embrace it when it was good, he's stuck with it on the way down.

    From Fox.

Behind the scenes of the Mattis bombshell: More resignations expected after ‘protest’ exit

"Earlier this month, Mattis was asked by Fox News’ Bret Baier at the Reagan National Defense Forum whether he was being pressured to pull out of Afghanistan.

Mattis warned of the consequences of doing so: “If we leave, 20-odd of the most dangerous terrorist groups in the world centered in that region, and we walk out of there, then we know what will happen. Our intelligence services are very specific that we will be under attack in a number of years.”
