To be fair, the Chinese have ordered some soybeans since then. A small fraction of what they normally buy.

That said, the price is still down; we're still subsidizing soybean growers so they don't go broke; and there's no guarantee that any of this results in any benefit to anyone.

--getting played by North Korea
--whining about midterm momentum after one of his fans sent pipe bombs to Democrats
--calling the real death toll of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico "fake news"
--child separation
--blaming the deaths of migrant children on Democrats
--calling Haiti and African nations "shithole" countries
--calling a U.S. congressman "Schitt" on Twitter
--firing the Attorney General of the United States because he wouldn't stop the Mueller investigation
--losing much of his cabinet/staff to malfeasance and or major ideological conflicts
--mocking Christine Blasey Ford
--refusing to the lower the White House flag after the deaths of Annapolis journalists and John McCain

No major foreign mass casualty attack within the US.

Hawaii got serious about the NK missile threat.

One year closer to 2020 re-election.

One more year of TDS survival on the books, meaning one less to endure.
