The quality of his law school, which is pretty high, isn't a particularly relevant reason to confirm or reject him. The reasons to reject are that he worked for a firm under investigation; that be believes only Christians should serve as judges or prosecutors; and that he has been tapped for the primary purpose of obstructing justice.

When we want $5 billion for Head Start, we can't afford it. When you want $5b for more bombs, we can't afford NOT to spend it.

So who makes up the "swing" caucus in the Senate now? Romney, Murkowski, Collins and who? McSally has to run in two years, won't be her. Toomey (PA seems to have turned blue)? Gardner up in '20? Alexander (retiring)?

Have to exclude Collins. She’ll be “very concerned” then vote as she always does. She’s getting bounced out in 2020.

I mentioned Collins in the first three. Not sure it matters too much. Mitch decides which bills see the floor, so they could support a House bill passed by Dems and it would never see the floor.

We can only “afford” things Republicans want.

I guess the Grand Havana Room didn’t cut Rudy off after his third.

I love picking apart their argument.

God is going to be so mad that fetuses are aborted, which has been going on for thousands of years, that he’s rooting for a huge war that will kill more people.

Or, God is so mad at gays sleeping with each other, he wants a war that will kill nearly everyone.

That is a major problem that somehow needs to be fixed. McConnell won't even let the Senate vote to protect Mueller, legislation that GOP Senators support. McConnell has already said he won't allow a vote on any spending bill the House passes. Cloture won't do it, I don't think. That's to end debate and call for a vote. If something doesn't even get on the floor, you can't really end what never started.

Mitch said he doesn't want to waste time on that. What else do you have to do besides pass legislation? One POS can essentially shut down one of the houses of our legislature.

    RE: Tax Returns

You'll never get it passed at the national level right now when we need it most. What could happen is several Democrat-controlled states could pass it. If you want to be listed on our state's ballot, release your tax returns. California wouldn't work because it's a loss for Republicans, anyway. It would have to be a few swing states.
