I agree that 'blackface' is a loaded word.

But I'm not sure what else to call it.

Yeah, and I'm sure that entirely explains why we've seen the same thing from other schools, for example at Arizona State:

    Or at Georgia:

I don't recall hearing your complaints on those occasions. But, yeah, I'm sure every student who's ever done that on a blackout night must be a racist. It's not possible any could've just been naive kids trying to get into the spirit of the theme night without understanding the implications.

An example from Georgia doesn’t help in making your point
    Kinda reinforces the other side

Just because RickStain may not be on record complaining about it doesn't mean there wasn't controversy and backlash.

"Well it *can't* be racist if white kids from Georgia are doing it. Got 'em! *send post*"

    bigpern23 and BadgerBeer like this.

Do you honestly believe race is the reason those kids from Georgia did that?

Just to clarify, I absolutely believe it is wrong. And no kid should ever do it. I just don't think it's fair to presume a kid a racist for doing something more likely a naive mistake, especially when it's like a 16 year old kid who was specifically told to come to the game entirely in that color.

This shit has a long history that both they and you are feigning ignorance on.

It’s always oops we didn’t know, oops we drew white lines on the black but it’s a coincidence, how did we know it was the only school on our schedule with black kids on it.

Trump's face would fit in just fine in the student section of UT's Frank Erwin Center.

You realize Megyn Kelly was fired for supporting this

I'm not feigning ignorance. I know the history, hence why I clearly acknowledged it's wrong and never should be done.

But I doubt the typical teen kid knows that history.
