Michelle Lael-Norsworthy, 51, was convicted of second-degree murder in 1987 and is serving a sentence of life with possibility of parole at Mule Creek State Prison for men. Born Jeffrey Bryan Norsworthy, she has undergone hormone therapy for 15 years to the extent, her lawyers argue, of damaging her liver and risking other medical complications.

In April, a federal judge in San Francisco ordered the corrections department to provide Norsworthy with a sex change, contending the state had failed to meet her "serious medical need."

California Atty. Gen. Kamala Harris is challenging the order in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeal, on behalf of the state corrections department, arguing that drug therapy and prison counseling made surgery medically unnecessary.

Just so we're clear: This is one of the few knocks on Harris from the left. Another is that she didn't adequately support...sex workers' rights...when she went after pimps.

I do not think people appreciate just how quickly the Democratic Party has moved to the hard left socially. That's the real reason Clinton didn't win: Because a lot of progressives stayed home.

They're not settling for a Biden this time. They'd be OK with Bernie - because Bernie is just the grandpa that'll let them do whatever they want - but I'm sure they'd prefer a younger, minority candidate of some kind.

Harris is probably the best candidate, but she basically has to recant a number of her positions as California AG - which she seems quite willing to do - in order to satisfy the LGBT wing of the party.

The hard left should accept anyone not named trump. Not even Cruz could fuck up the country more than trump. Cruz is a puss that oozes from a genital wart on the anus of Chris Christie and he’s still better tha. Trump.

 

Electing a not-Trump candidate might be just as bad for the country as electing a not-Hillary candidate, if that is the main deciding factor.

 

I know people who lived through it who explain to me why they like him --- or are just scared to death of what would replace him.

I TRY to explain that to you. It's certainly not nearly as good as you hearing it firsthand from them . . . but it's all I got. Sorry.
