Still - it isn't like he went to that school in a vacuum. I'm guessing there were no black people in the school and the rest just thought of it as "harmless fun." I just thought once he was elected to statewide office someone might have pulled the book of the shelf and said, I went to school with a Northam, is that the same guy?

 

I just wonder why this come up when he was running for governor. It seems like someone would have uncovered it.

I totally agree, but a filter is supposed to catch stuff and not let it through in the first place, not pull stuff back once the debris has passed on.

 

I agree with the first two points 100%.
The third is ultimately up to the constituents.

 

The only acceptable answer for Northam is: “I know that’s not me because I have never dressed like a Klansman or in black face.”
If you apologize one day and vow to make amends, you can’t feasibly proclaim innocence the next day.
