HUH? The president had the gallery chanting USA and singing happy birthday. Abrams' response was like 12 minutes, eight of which were spent talking about Georgia.

His speech was borderline embarrassing, but it was anything but boring. It was hilarious at times, it was energetic, there were some sweet (I know, staged) moments.

I'll agree, Abrams' speech came across more as a stump speech than a policy, platform or response speech.

 

Abrams didn’t mention WWII even once.

Hasn’t she heard that we won?

 

His speech was pretty boring. He was bored with it.

The trade talk was interesting.

 

I do wish Abrams had referenced her steamy novels.

If you are looking for a rebuttal rebuttal - you should check out Bernie's response. He's always come off as a bit of a grump - but he's taking down the SOTU poin by point. Not exactly flowery rhetoric, coming across more like a petition of grievances.
