    Every state has the burden of its cliches. Connecticut is full of rich snobs and bad state management. Virginia is full of leaders who liked to party in blackface.

    Circa 1986. Age 9, a classmate did brown skin to be Dwight Gooden for Halloween. It was done in tribute. We all thought it was in bad taste and we lived in shittsville, pa.

    About five years ago, a friend went as Michael Jackson for Halloween. Didn’t do any skin augmentation, but had a curly wig and the red jacket. We told to him get rid of the jacket and just tell everyone he was Slater or we wouldn’t go to a bar with him. He could not figure out why his costume was considered offensive.

    But there was a fucking movie based on blackface. That somehow made it to the big screen but some idiot 20 year old that went dressed as MJ should be held accountable today? I don't think this should be an automatic disqualifier for public office.
