Absent a gun, knife or beating threat, how do you force a woman to perform oral sex on a man by pushing her head down towards his penis? Not talking about using career threats and rewards, but physical force. Asking for a friend who would not normally try to stick his penis into the mouths of women who did not want it there, ouch.

The main box office competition to Fahrenheit 9/11, IIRC.

I agree with you. The problem is there are too many numbskulls who swallow Trump's kool aid.

In 2010, it was over healthcare. If that's the issue in 2020, the democrats will win easily. Public opinion has made a big shift.

Did Fatfuck manage to tweet today, or did the effort of standing upright for 85 minutes leave him bedridden?

Maybe someone actually convinced him to shut the fuck up for a day and allow a positive news cycle to happen.

    They do.

But I'm older than you are and it was well and widely understood by the mid-1980s that blackface was inappropriate. The premise of the movie 'Soul Man' is exactly that. The kid knows he's doing the wrong thing, does it anyway, gets caught, learns from it, becomes a better person.

Maybe we can distinguish between two kinds of blackface to clarify things.

Blackface - as in a minstrel show - to intentionally mock black folks, was widely understood to be wrong by the 1950s.

Darkening one's complexion as part of a costumed homage to a favorite performer like Prince or Kurtis Blow (!) - also a kind of 'blackface' - is slightly more complicated, but was understood to be inappropriate from the mid-1980s forward.

Dress up like Prince for Halloween, sure. Don't black up to do it.

I also have questions about the origins of the UVA yearbook:

    "Corks and Curls."

At some point American racism has to be understood and acknowledged as pervasive.

Much of Virginia is named for Confederate heroes. Not only Lee but Jackson, Magruder, Davis, etc. Does anyone know of anything in Virginia named after their native son, the Union General George Thomas, who ended the War as the commander of a major Union Army, the Army of the Cumberland, and was probably the best Union Corps Commander. Or are honors reserved only for Confederate soldiers?
