It was my own invention. Not all attempts at laughs get there

What time did the Bezos news hit? Seems like a lot of A1s were torn up tonight - especially in Detroit and Washington - and then you had the SC decision.

It's incredibly shady and shitty. And I think it will be interesting to see if AMI did something criminal to obtain those photos. (I mean, somebody did, right?) I just don't know if that offer to suppress true information in exchange for whatever hinky shit AMI was asking for constitutes a criminal act.

If "You need to lie about something or we'll release embarrassing info about you" is not blackmail, what is? From the interbutt:

"Blackmail is punishable by a fine, imprisonment, or both.” So, simply put, blackmail is a threat to harm someone (physically or emotionally) if they do not do something the blackmailer wants. In some states, blackmail must be in writing, and if it is not, it is called “extortion."

Tell it to Jeff Sessions. I seem to recall his refusing to testify with regard to things "that the President may decide are privileged later."

The question is whether the SDNY or Mueller think that AMI has violated their agreement.

Yeah, we'll see. I still think, when people really figure out what Russia was supposed to have done here, there's a possibility they're going to be underwhelmed.

I'm going to say they know a little bit more about the law than I do. So whatever they decide, that's probably what we should go with.

I'm not going to get into who's smart and who isn't although, again, it amazes me that Trump can be both entirely stupid and diabolically cunning. That doesn't matter much anyway.

AOC has a lot of smart folks - ultra-progressive, but smart - working in her corner, and they know how to play this game.

Trump has some cunning people advising him as well. The problem with that is that they never know when he'll listen, what he'll say, or if after he's stuck with the plan whether he'll get on Twitter the next day and blow it sky high.

Give AOC some time to season and she may become a force. Too early to tell now, although obviously she's made a good start overall.
