8 hours from Trump's SCOTUS pick, and the name hasn't leaked out.

Leading candidate appears to be Harriman, who sits on the same court as Trump's sister, and was my brother's roommate in law school.

He looked like he was third on the list only a week ago.

Just turned on the radio. I'm early for Rush -- hi @Justin_Rice -- and Glenn Beck is on. He's not on board with Hardiman, and thinks evangelicals will be pissed if he is the choice.

That's because we don't know which advisor will be in line to whisper in his ear at 7:59. It's like hanging around a greyhound track, waiting to see which dog pees last then rushing to the betting window.

The evangelicals. The holy people who vote for a venereal disease-ridden perverted daughterfucker to advance the greater glory of Jesus Christ.

Fuck the evangelicals. Right in the ass, where they like it.

For those who were around then, how does this compare to the end of Nixon's administration? How long did it take to go from "the White House is caught up in a scandal" being background noise to "ZOMG Watergate!" all the time?

It depends on when we're talking about.

This is what you do all the time.

As time plays out, less options are available.

By the time there are no good options, you say, "well what do you think we should do?"

But, simple thinks like arming moderate Syrian rebels earlier could have changed the situation.

We could have imposed a no fly zone. We could have struck at ISIS, to prevent their growth.

We could have enforced the red line -- or not drawn it at all.

Kerry could have avoided opening the door for Russia to become further involved.

Unless the nominee finds out they are the pick when Trump makes his announcement, you have to figure the pick is on his way to D.C. now, and that the other two finalists have been told they aren't getting the job.

For a WH that has been accused of leaking like a sieve, they've done a good job of keeping this quiet.

    Not even close.

Nixon, for all his faults of which there were plenty, seemed to be ratcheting down tensions with the USSR and China. Sudden annihilation in nuclear war seemed to be easing back as a possibility. With Fucko it ramps up day by day.

And Nixon would have gassed himself rather than appear ignorant or incompetent. This fuckoff revels in it.

And oh yeah. Nixon never went on teevee talking about fucking his daughters.

It took about a year for Watergate to mushroom from a dumb little diversion into a full fledged major scandal.

But Nixon and his minions kept covering it up and digging themselves in deeper and deeper.

Did you forget? Republicans were for enforcing the red line, and then Obama said he wanted to enforce the red line, so Republicans in the senate moved to block him.
