I agree with much of what you say here. Not all, but more than usual, especially the part about the trade surplus. Obviously, some countries have to run deficits or no other country could have a surplus.

If they haven't become naturalized, they can still be deported.

And, if they'r not refugees or asylum seekers, they're supposed to be able to support themselves, or rely on the assistance of family, church, etc.

This is normal around the world. No country allows immigrants who aren't refugees or asylum seekers to immigrate, and become a burden on their new nation.
