The budget is a political document, reflecting the President's priorities. Many of them are DOA.

    This one certainly was.

    Plot twist

As a House member from Kansas, Pompeo relentlessly demanded information from the executive branch on sensitive issues such as Benghazi and the Iran nuclear deal. Now that he’s in the executive branch, however, Pompeo won’t hand over similar materials, despite repeated entreaties from legislators.

Don't need a report or a letter summarizing a report to prove Trump is a disaster.

I'm genuinely confused about something. Everything I've read says that nobody outside the DOJ -- Trump included -- has read Mueller's report. I just read a story that said that Trump has not even been briefed on the report. Are we really to believe that Trump has no idea what is contained in the report beyond what Barr wrote in his letter? Is there any reason why Trump couldn't have summoned Barr and had brief him on the contents? Is there reason to assume that he isn't at least somewhat aware of whatever parts of the report would make him look bad? This is an awfully long and emphatic touchdown dance for a guy who has spent the last year fighting this thing tooth and nail.

Or is this just his strategy for mitigating the damage of whatever Mueller actually submitted, similar to his strategy to pretty much every scandal he's been confronted with, which is to create an alternate reality and talk and act as if it is the real reality? I've said this all along - the thought of some grand conspiracy that would result in Trump's impeachment was a fantasy that a bunch of embarrassed HRC voters clung to as hard and as long as they could. And obstruction was always going to be hard to prove, given that to prove it you would have to establish that Trump was not simply acting like a stone cold moron, which is a tough case to make. But there remain an awful lot of things that need explaining. Manafort, Cohen, Gates, Flynn -- they may not have been charged with anything connected with collusion, but whatever information led to those investigations was uncovered in the investigation of the Trump campaign and Russia. Maybe none of that stuff involved Trump personally. Or maybe a lot of it is now under the purview of the farmed-out investigations.

The whole thing is a mindfuck.

Soon we'll be hearing that the Mueller Report needs to be vetted by the White House to prevent any violation of Executive Privilege.

As if there were an executive privilege that Trump wouldn't violate.

If you’re the Dems, you announce that Barr has one week to release the report, and if he doesn’t release it by then, then the entire group, House and Senate, will march down to the DOJ en masse and wait in the office until they are given the report.

The publicity would be great and the most of the sane country would be behind them.

I just want to know if some of the things that were reported actually happend.
Junior meeting in Trump Tower with a group of Russian operatives
Stone communicating with Wikileaks about the doc dump
Flynn talking to a Russian official about sanctions ahead of the inauguration.
The actual threat to the election of 2016 that the Obama Administration and Mitch McConnell say was factual.

Did any of this happen? None of it?
