Apparently Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has US and Kyrgyzstan citizenship.

His brother had only Russian and Kyrgyzstan citizenship.

I'd love to read a Civil War alternate history in which: Booth fails to kill Lincoln; the KKK arises as it did in real life; Lincoln says, "WTF did we fight this war for, if we're just gonna let sheet wearing terrorists kill people?," so he tells Grant and Sherman to saddle up again and clean out the trash with a nuclear flamethrower.

Civil War II: Leave No Doubt
    Scroll to 3:10:

"Run it up, Sherman. Leave no doubt."

All that said, we agree that prisoners shouldn’t be able to vote unless their sentence is served. So, in the eyes of AOC, we’re both wrong.

OK, so? In our eyes, she's wrong, too. That doesn't mean her policy proposal can be dismissed as "virtue signaling." There's a legitimate debate to be had here. Let's argue the policy on the merits.

I don't see the danger of what Bernie Sanders or AOC is pushing. Does that mean I'm uneducated?

Always neat to be able to make A Christmas Story reference in April in the politics thread!

To Fuckboy's incel troll legion, it's "gaaay" to actually think about silly shit like "doing the right thing," acting like a civilized human being, acting with human charity, caring anything about racism, sexism, etc etc., is all "virtue signaling."

And of course the response is "asshole signaling."

Blah blah blah blah. Vigorous jacking-off motion. Guess what, Johnny boy? Democrats think trickle-down Reaganomics is complete fuckin bullshit.

Why the hell would any Democrat, ever, come out in favor of trickle-down Reaganomics?

Why? Is it a pressing matter in America? Is it anywhere near the priority issues for any voter?

It’s virtue signalling because it’s so tertiary to prison reform or election reform, and even more tertiary to the trajectory of America. It’s a straight morality play for liberals. And one morality play deserves another, which is the obvious response of “OK, what about a terrorist?”

IMO, there is no policy to debate on its merits, because the policy isn’t the point of the discussion. The discussion is the point of the discussion. Policy would only ruin the purity of thought.

The problem isn't the billionaires - the problem is the system that allows/encourages/promotes wealth growth skewed to the highest levels. It is economically unhealthy. We need to dial back the legislation that has allowed income growth to skew so much to one end. Frankly - I'm fine with the billionares keeping all of their money - I just hope the regular joes can see their income increase 10 percent a year for a decade as well.
