"Stephen Moore, the Federal Reserve nominee, has withdrawn from consideration. Apparently, his history of sexist and racist comments prevented him from gathering much support in the Senate. In other news, Donald Trump is still president."

The people who defense Jones, Watson, etc. say that someday somebody might not like something you say and you'll get banned.

I don't think so. If you're not an amoral shitbag who doesn't care who you hurt, you have no reason to worry.

“So you kill them now or you kill them later. You bring them in the world unwanted, unloved, you send them to the electric chair. So, you kill them now or you kill them later,” State Rep. John Rogers, D-Birmingham, said in a video posted on Twitter."

Christ, what an idiot. John Rogers is from a perpetually safe voting district, and he also knows parliamentary procedure and the legislatures traditions and quirks. He makes deals, usually deals where he and his make out somehow. The Alabama Democratic Party is a Porta-Potty burning in a dumpster, and this guy is a great example of why. He might as well be throwing grenades in his own trench. He's pissed off about the recent Fuck Rowe abortion bill. I understand that he actually means that there are many poor kids who face a tough road and little support from their family or outside institutions, but good lord, what possessed him to phrase it this way. SMH.

Btw, if you can find a clip of him speaking, run thirty seconds of it and see how much of what he says you can understand. *edit* See the al.com link below. This is actually pretty articulate for Rogers.

White House rips Mueller in letter to DOJ, says team ‘failed in their duty to act as prosecutors’

I can't understand why Trump would want to start open warfare with Mueller before Mueller testifies before Congress. Dumb.

Mueller laid out at least ten different instances where Trump could be taken to court for obstruction. He didn't indict because the DoJ rules say he can't, so he laid a roadmap to prosecute after Trump is out of office. Trump and his alleged brain trust think that they can shit on him without a response simply because the investigation is over and the report is out? Mueller has been in D.C. for a long time, and knows people and procedures in a way that no one in the White House comprehends. It will be interesting to see how this one plays out.

The bottom of the barrel: it just keeps getting bottom-er.

We're two ships passing in night on this, which is fine.

Most of your post is not only beside my point, but something with which I'd agree on a broad principle level. But warning flares have been going up for awhile now. On a lot of fronts. For many reasons. These warning flares did not cast the die for me, for it was already cast (for me) on this administration and this president.

Now, on some level, I was/am a journalist. And part of what journalists should do is they actually look at things in the micro before making grand macro sweeping statements about Bill Barr embarrassing himself or Kamala Harris pummeling him in cross. Because discerning such things helps guard against the daily "and now there's this!" habit that can actually numb the audience that needs to be reached on matters such as these.

And I think what people see in that eight minutes is frankly what they want to see if they think Harris actually got Barr on something. I don’t see it. And if any question is sincere, then you care about the answer more than bulldozing to the next series of questions as the witness is trying to add context.
