Melania's checking out his package, and Macron's wife seems smitten. Only Merkel looks a little uneasy.

Is there any rule against Obama being on the ticket as Vice President? That’s the only way I would vote for Biden.
In any case, the vp nomination should be a total attack person - go after trump 24-7. If trump has to answer back, it takes his focus off the presidential nominee. And even if he doesn’t, there needs to be someone out there that is relentless in going after him and allow the top person on the ticket to focus on the more positive things. The number one thing is make sure every sane person knows how important it is to vote.

Obama cannot hold any position that puts him in the direct line of succession.

This is a matter of debate. The 22nd Amendment says you can only be elected twice; it doesn't address actual service.

The 12th Amendment says, "But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States."
So it's confusing and, to many, unclear.

Just to point out how people can get confused on this, the above-linked Post story says this: "The 22nd Amendment doesn't say you can't be president for more than two terms. It says you can't be elected president twice."

No, it doesn't say that. It says you can't be elected more than twice.

That's not set in stone. The 22nd Amendment doesn't specifically prohibit it. It's definitely a valid constitutional question, but since no one has ever tried to do it it's never been seriously pondered. IIRC, the last former president to even hold another elected federal office was Andrew Johnson.
Theoretically Obama could serve as vice president without any problem so long as Biden is president. It's only if he had to take over as president that it would then be an issue. If that were to happen, it seems like he should be allowed to serve out the term (or at least two years of it, as the 22nd Amendment allows) but then would not be able to run for re-election.

Macron looks like he's ready to slap Putin with a white glove and challenge him to a duel.

And are we sure Trump isn't just checking out Merkel's ass and smiling in approval?
