I've wrestled with this for years. I don't feel it's my place to tell anyone what they can do with their body but we have all kinds of laws in that regard (drugs, alcohol, prescription medication, etc.)
On the other hand I believe a heartbeat means life. I don't know where or how in the evolutionary process that it was decided that females bore the children but there it is, and no one's changing that. I sometimes wonder if the feminist attitude about abortion stems from some deep-seated resentment that their gender is the one that gives birth. It wasn't my call.
That said, if Bible-beaters would quit fighting honest, meaningful sex education, we'd have fewer abortions. I would also put free condom machines in every junior high and high school bathroom in America. I would also try to change the conservative mind-set about being against abortion but not giving a rat's ass about some poor unwed teen mother in the hood or the trailer park and her baby than they do now.
I also can't figure out the mental gymnastics it must take for someone to be for aborting an innocent baby but against executing a guilty person who committed a capital offense. I have a standing offer to liberals: I'll give up the death penalty if you'll give up abortion for the sake of convenience.

How about this: Give up on abortion if rapists would get the death penalty. I might settle for life in prison/no parole.

Women needing more justice against rapists > men dictating laws regarding women's bodies.

It's too late for the DC media to start asking real questions since the WH is pulling credentials. Fucking fucks.

Alabama just told Georgia "Here, hold my beer" and created absolutely the most draconian abortion law they could. Six week limit, no exception for rape or incest, doctors involved subject to up to 99 years in prison, jail for the mother as well.

The saner ones want the exceptions at least, all the rest want a "pure law" to submit to the Supremes.

It makes me queasy to have to depend on John Roberts to defend Roe, but I agree about him. He does not want to be the Chief Justice who ruins the court's reputation for fairness and following precedent.

What about those of us who are in favor of the right to choose and the death penalty?

The hell it is. Pulling credentials is dead wrong, but the media never needed a credential.
