Correct. In some ways it's worse, because his staff is now normalizing bullshit instead of letting him flip out about it.

 

It has been argued, and I think there's some merit to it, that the fact much of what was in the report had already been reported lowered its impact on the high information political community.

 

Carlson doesn't make sense on much, but immigration is an issue on which he makes about as much sense as anyone else...because there are no good answers anywhere to be found. The wall, the tariffs...far less than good solutions. But they exist in a vacuum of solutions.

The left has no solutions here. I'm not sure they can have a solution, short of blanket amnesty and open borders, since anything that looks like restriction is held subject to the Statue of Liberty huddled masses test. So they have no official solutions. They kick the can down the road and look the other way because it doesn't affect the wealthiest among them.

The left has whiffed on this. Completely. And it has unwisely judged Americans who question insolvency on immigration as racist or xenophobic.

 

And the problem with the immigration system as it existed before was?

The left has no good solutions on immigration. The right just wants mass executions

 

Immigration is a net positive for this country by a wide margin. If it stopped, the aging out of the white working age cohort would gradually and maybe not so gradually impoverish us. There has absolutely not been an argument against it that doesn't rest on xenophobia and racism and in our long history, there never has been.
