As soon as I saw an unnamed "U.S. official" giving the first draft of the story I thought it was BS. Likely a political appointee trying to spin, perhaps Bolton or one of his underlings. I don't know how newspaper reporters in good conscience can allow themselves to be used to gin up a war.

Remember the original Jessica Lynch "GI Jane" narrative? They quoted DoD officials, not military officials.

We once again have reached the point at which Alma throws reality out the window. It didn't even take long this time.

Many of them aren't loyal to anything. It's not about loyalty. It's about power and that's a big block of voters. They know they can't afford to lose that part of their base.

 

As someone who has been to many Buffett shows and actually has a "Jimmy Buffett for President t-shirt" I must ask you to refrain from any further connections to him and Trump.

Buffett actually held a Clinton fundraiser at his NY home in 2016.

He is trolling Trump this year on tour. When he sings Volcano and the usual lyrics are "don't want to land in San Diego" Buffett changes it to Mar-a-Lago.

 

The Grateful Dead analogy is apt. Like Trump, their fans formed a cultlike movement dedicated to do something that never really was that popular and included annoying iconography.

 

So the people selling homemade maga hats are the modern equivalent of the guys selling grilled cheese sandwiches? Your thoughts intrigue me.

 

People actually make cheaper MAGA hats than the official Chinese cheaply-made MAGA hats to undercut their beloved leader? Wouldn't that be like people sneaking Wyler's drink mix into Jonestown?
