One thing I never see in any of these stories: The breakdown of those who didn't vote? How many voted present and who were they? Who didn't bother to show and who were they?

Every time I think Trump and his cult can't get any more disgusting, something like tonight happens. This country is beyond repair. When Trump is gone, I'm never going to be able to accept republicans' pathetic excuses for their cowardly silence and enabling of this racist buffoon.

If this is the temperature now, I can't fathom what it's going to be like in six months, and in a year leading up to the election.

Either this is what we are or this is what we’re not.

The thing is, even if Trump loses the next election, what's been awakened isn't just going to go back to sleep.

As a veteran, as an educated person, as a high school US Government teacher, as a former Republican, as a (I feel) decent and moral person, as someone who counts among his friends men who have been hoodwinked by Trump and his media minions, as someone who believes in the American ideal above all else .... about the only way I can describe myself is heartbroken.

The optimist in me is still hopeful.

The guy's a crook and a tool, but if he beats Roy Moore he'll be elected. Odds are that he and Moore duke it out for the nomination.

"In a deeply divided House, Wednesday's criminal contempt measure passed on a mostly party-line vote of 230-198. The House's lone independent, Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan, backed the measure. Four Democrats broke with their leaders and opposed it. The rebuke of Trump Cabinet officials comes just a day after the House passed another resolution condemning the president himself for racist tweets over the weekend.

The move marks the second time a sitting attorney general has been found in criminal contempt by the House. The first time was back in 2012, when the House voted to hold then-Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt over his failure to turn over documents for the chamber's "Fast and Furious" probe. Seventeen Democrats joined with what was then a Republican majority to secure that outcome."
