So a Bernie bro friend of mine says that it's unfair to blame those who voted for Jill Stein for Clinton's loss because in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan, Stein finished fourth, behind Gary Johnson. He claims that Johnson took more votes away from trump than Stein did with Clinton.

    Is that a dumb argument?

That's a piss-poor argument because of the math. Without the third-partiers (assuming they vote 100% based on party's left-right bent) it's Trump 3,076,580, Clinton 2,893,617. Maybe some of the Johnson voters break for Hillary because pot but not enough to flip the state.

Didn't mean to come off that way. Just saying he dropped out of the presidential race, now jumping into the lesser Senate race. I offer no opinion here either way of him.

Actually I wish more of the also-rans would do the same thing (cough Beto cough). Winning the Senate is just a hair less important than winning the Presidency.

I don't know. If you win the Senate, you can stop the salting of the judiciary at almost all federal levels with hard-core Republican nominees. You gut Mitch and everything else is easier. Plus you can block Trump at every turn. Given the choice, I take winning the Senate instead of the presidency. Ain't gonna happen, most likely, but I can dream.

Fuck Mitch, and fuck Josh Hawley and Roy Blunt.

When it's a race you can win in a relative walk and the highest office you've held is governor, there's not really a downside

Is it dishonest to blame Stein or disgruntled Sanders voters for Clinton's loss?

Winning the Senate is nearly as important as toppling Trump. The Democrats could and should use the nuclear option to add 2, even 4 Supreme Court justices. Got to take the Court back.

I don’t either. Too many stupid voters.
