Sane and Presidential are the main things I'm looking for in this election.

If you're "as against gun prevalence as anyone," why wouldn't you encourage as many CEOs as possible to leverage their influence to curb it? The GOP, if you're not aware, is far more likely to listen to CEOs than not-CEOs when it comes to crafting policy.

    Debate thoughts:

*Castro came to pick fights with Biden. I guess he scored some points, but Amy and Pete smacked him for it. He seems more like a CNN analyst.

*Yang is done. Not a serious candidate.

*Harris is a criminal lawyer through and through. Always trying to reshape the conversation, referee the discussion, correct, refine, restate. Situational ethicist. Atracked Trump and GOP a lot. That’s fine.

*Few candidates ever have been as forceful and seemingly certain as Bernie Sanders. Trump of course, does, but Sanders is a far better man.

*Warren is strong on a lot of topics and gave a good answer on Afghanistan. She has no clue on immigration. None. She mentioned enforcing “rule of law” in Central America gave me hazy visions of the Reagan era.

*Booker would have been a better candidate 10 years ago. Smart guy, thoughtful, but he’s running in a time when his intelligence is directed toward canned positions Democrats are forced to embrace.

*I’ll vote for Biden, but Jesus. Where’s that guy’s mind in 3 years. But it was fun to see him get pissed. He’s way more accomplished than many of the candidates on the stage.

Based on what I heard tonight:

    Medicare for all

    Teachers paid like doctors

Universal child care and universal preschool

    Free college

    Cancel student debt

Billions in aid for Central America

    TPS for Venezuelans

Students overstaying visas becoming citizens (seriously this is ridiculous.)

    Mandatory gun buybacks

I mean, good luck with that.

One more thing: Biden clearly likes Sanders.

Imagine if the GOP came out and said - I tell ya what we're gonna do - we're gonna give the millionaires and billionaires more tax relief, spend frivolously on the military, and jack up the debt.

Well of course we can afford that.

This is a weird statement. I mean, unless you're an actual Nazi, that's true on the right as well.

Castro sure is taking some - when Biden said you could "buy in" to Medicare and then said you wouldn't - I had the same reaction Castro did.

As a poster on another board wrote, it's pretty obvious Warren wanted to do more with her life than teach.

And Biden has actually run for office before, right? Or spoken in public?
