No, I don't think the Senate will convict. But get them on record. Also, if damning information comes out, it's not completely out of the question that the GOP could throw him overboard if he becomes a political liability. Doubtful but possible.

I agree it will come down to the election. Honestly, NOT impeaching will be a bad move for the Democrats in 2020 at this point.

 

The first sentence of his obit needs to read that he was impeached. This is about doing right by history as much as anything else.
No, he's not going to be removed by a spineless Senate. We all know that. But somebody has to act with some courage and express something in support of democracy.

 

It's incredible how these sycophants try to frame all these issues surrounding the President as "fake media" and "haters" out to get the President, when each story is usually spurred by someone appointed by the President leaking info to the media.

Unless the President can find better defenders than diGenovia and Rudy (who up to their necks in the Ukraine stuff themselves) I think this thing is already heading in a direction that will be difficult to turn around for Trump. One way he could survive would be the Wall Street types or Pharma offering up a huge policy win for him to parade to avoid facing more serious actions from a Democrat.

 

Trump would be for a bill that weakens taxation if Obama had *passed* it.
