These Republicans wanted to be arrested so they become martyrs for the cause. That was the whole point. The Dems whiffed and denied them their martyrdom. A happy accident.

But that’s why I say the Dems should no-sell it. Meaning take this stunt literally. Have them arrested. Take away their security clearances. Make them actually have to get lawyers and actually go to court. Run political ads with the GOP perp walks, saying that they’re endangering the country’s security.

FFS. Turns out the Republicans timed their break-in with the funeral for Pelosi's brother. They have no shame.

Shit. IIRC, it was page 360 of the Benghazi report, with the Republicans saying how the ability to interview witnesses in private allowed for one interrogator who was up to speed to ask all the questions and follow ups. No five minute fragmented blocks of Congressmen preening for the cameras. Witnesses are more likely to be reflective and tell the truth accurately without the circus, and if not they are more likely to be caught out by an interrogator at the time. More like that.

I think that the count was that ten of the people on that list actually have seats on one of the three committees and already have access to the testimony on the one they sit on.
