Let’s call it an average loyal viewership of 4 million. His core support is 2.2 million. About the same as those who still watch American Idol. 2.2 million of 130 million votes cast in 2016. And those people already voted for him. He’s not picking up new support. He’s got a very narrow but deep well of support.

 

Must have had a few extra Big Macs before taking his dumpski.

 

Kind of a crazy amount of huge news late tonight:

One is the best news for Trump in ... a year? The other is confirmation he’ll be impeached in the house and a major erosion of what few talking points loyalists had.

 

He's going to try to make this his bin Laden moment, only who the fuck cares?

 

Always skeptical of anything sourced to a "senior defense official" - usually means a political appointee rather than military. I remember the Jessica Lynch hoax was entirely sourced to a "defense official." I'd like to think something like this wouldn't be mucked up - but I'll withhold judgement.

 

So, he's taking credit for solving another crisis he created? At least he has the good sense to announce it before the NFL kicks off.

 

Eh, if Baghdadi is dead that’s a feather in Trump’s cap. He predates Trump’s term as a guy atop the “to kill” list.

Trump will definitely say, “see, I didn’t fuck up by withdrawing! I knew what I was doing! I’m a genius!” In reality, this potentially — just potentially — answers one of about five huge reasons why what he’s done in Syria is insanely stupid.
