It's a good if minor thing Trump went to Afghanistan to visit troops for the first time ever, but it's not a sign the war is going well if a trip to the largest and presumably most secure US base by the President, whomever it is, has to be a super top secret until the President is on site. Trump said the peace talks with the Taliban are back on. If he has the guts, which I doubt, to be the President to say, "fuck this, we're going home" I will give him credit for a good and major thing.
