That he’s completely wrecked the dialogue on race in the wake of Charlottesville, the line about other countries and the comments about the four Congresswomen? That’s the wrong primary reason?

Immigration is a serious issue. Nothing can be done under Trump. Nothing. He’s ruined the issue for however long he’s in office and perhaps for years after it because of how he’s spoken about it. Gingrich didn’t do that.

I’m happy to say - and have already - that Trump is just desserts for the GOP, which flirted far too long with specious arguments and positions. But, for myriad reasons - chief among them that Trump has an awful habit of using NYC troll humor to make points - discourse has eroded so much under Trump that specious arguments and people have begun to crop up more on the other side. Plus you have “piano wire noose” lines.

    It's a Mussolini reference.

You're still in "The problem isn't Trump. The problem is the criticism of Trump." territory.

I'm sure it's not news to them --- and shouldn't be to anyone --- that America is ruled by banks.

My posts would indicate a completely different territory than this description. They acknowledge Trump's awfulness while simultaneously having some cynicism about whether what's happening is really about Trump, or if Trump just provides an excuse for folks to get their shitposting and venting on.

Trump isn't the end of American politics. There will be a life after him - relatively soon, I expect. Within a year. And maybe I'm wrong, and everything goes back to whatever it was in 2015, but I don't think it will. Trump's kicked something up - in supporters and opponents both.

Pete's in a tough spot. Eight years ago, every line on his resume was spun gold. Now, as the rich, successful people in his party attempt to cloth themselves in proletariat rags, he's gotta pretend he's not a textbook winner at life. (Which, he is. He's done a hell of a lot, let's face it.)

Same thing happened with Harris. Smart, sharp-witted, a careerist of the first order, always climbing the ladder, a truly impressive person, a hard ass, too, a person your daughter would want to be...but she smoked a bunch of pot and listened to rap, too, you know.

The Democrats' obsession with being the cool underdog is part of their undoing.

This is exactly the sort of leverage that Pelosi needs to force McConnell's hand on witnesses and documents. I'm sure there are more such stories to come.

    I wonder who leaked this?
