It's so often reduced to "political bullshiut from sides". And thats bullshit. It used to be that the big picture of the Nation was an agreed upon principle with similar goals. The sides just differed on how to get there. The right lost the moral and intellectual argument. The right did not know how to be gracious losers and the left kept wanting to fight the battles they already won.
Now:
One side has deeply held beliefs concerning climate change, jobs, civil rights, clean water and air, safe products, available quality health care and an inclusive bright future for as many people as possible.
The other side hates everything the first side wants. they want their guns, they want you to only obey their religion and want to control your sex life.

But both sides are equally at fault because the conservative side says "FUCK YOU" and the other side responds with "FUCK YOU, TOO"?

What would be a huge play would be if Biden is the nominee - and goes with Julian Castro (particularly since he endorsed Warren) - it would make inroads with the progressive wing, and send a strong signal to the party to unite. The fact he's gone after Biden a bit only makes him a better option to bring in the part of the party that isn't with Biden. Maybe Texas is in play or not, but you don't risk losing a Senate seat, and there just isn't a lot out there when it comes to progressive females of color who have been a governor or in Congress for more than a couple of years. Harris just isn't seen as left enough by most of the party - and her time as California AG is probably more of a hinderance than a help.
