I've always wondered if the attention level would have been lower if she had used a word other than "deplorable," which is a relatively obscure word. Its use by itself garnered attention. If she had said something else, would the quote have generated as much attention as it did?

Assholes. Morons. cocksuckers. Douchebags. Ignoramus. Deranged. Mentally infirmed. Genetic rejects. Homicidal maniacs. Sexual deviants. Any and all usually fit.

What other word? Despicable? Detestable? Nasty? Naughty?

No matter what word she used, the right wing screech machine professional-victim c***t-hurt brigade would have howled about it.

And nobody ever says a word about Fatfuck's endless demonization of liberals/progressives/Democrats. Hillary is flogged for years and years for one reference while Fatass spews 50 worse insults every day before breakfast.

It sure looks altered to me. Particularly around the hairline.

    Good point.
If your state's highest employee isn't a football or men's basketball coach, your state is South Dakota or North Dakota or another state without a major athletics presence.

    Entirely true.
I'm really not sure which synonym would have been better. A quick search suggests that "unfortunate" is a comparable word. But that wouldn't have really conveyed anything.

Carville needs to pick a side. You can't be an apologist for LSU and the South and advocate for Democrats. At least not as things currently exist.
Trumpist/SEC state legislatures oppose Medicare expansion, education and other initiatives that help improve quality of life for their residents. Trump leaked a budget plan that slashes safety net programs. These programs disproportionately benefit the states in which he has the highest levels of approval.

Every time I'm in D.C., I wonder if we still possess the mental and physical ability to build buildings like the Capitol and Lincoln Memorial.
That's an honest question. Are their any architects and craftsmen with the skillset to build such buildings? Building in stone is might be a lost art.
I'd be willing to bet that the average craftsman building cathedrals in medieval Europe with the tools they had were far more skilled than the average construction worker today.

Think about the guy who designed the Golden Gate Bridge - with nothing more than a slide rule.

We need to shut down Qanon.

Matthew Lusk, who is running unopposed in the Republican primary for a Florida congressional seat and openly embraces QAnon, said in an email that its anonymous creator was a patriot who “brings what the fake news will not touch without slanting.” As for the theory’s more extreme elements, Mr. Lusk said he was uncertain whether there really was a pedophile ring associated with the deep state.

“That being said,” he added, “I do believe there is a group in Brussels, Belgium, that do eat aborted babies.”
