The track continues to get worse. As I said yesterday, the mitigation measures won't show up in the data for a couple of weeks, but our best case scenario is now very bad indeed. Today's cheery news. In Greater Boston, supermarkets are starting to report employees with the virus. We've gone a week on my last run, but I have to go tomorrow. Really looking forward to it.

I went to Shop-Rite yesterday. Saw many masks and gloves but not by employees. One shopper was wearing a clear plastic body bag. There were squares marked in tape six feet apart on the floor to encourage distancing. All fresh baked goods were pre-wrapped. No more open hot bar all pre-packaged. No deli cutting, all pre packed. Best of all, an armed security guard directing people to line up in an aisle away from the cashiers until it's their turn to check out. No such controls at self-checkout. I went at 8 a.m. and not crowded, plenty of chicken and meat but no TP or paper towels despite 2 per customer limit. Did get two containers of wipes. Also was a big bin of latex gloves. About as stress-free as I'd hoped, though there were three reported SR employees at other stores who are infected. Unloaded the groceries outside the house and threw away the bags. Clothes went right into the wash.

I hope all these fuckers get it and die. Slowly. Painfully.

EPA suspends enforcement of environmental laws amid coronavirus

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a sweeping suspension of its enforcement of environmental laws Thursday, telling companies they would not need to meet environmental standards during the coronavirus outbreak.

Thank whatever god you believe in that trump is dumber and lazier than Hitler and Stalin or we’d all be in worse trouble

Well, the deaths are not being underreported. S0 . . .

10 times as many cases (so far) with the same amount of deaths (so far) = 0.15% death rate, 50% higher than seasonal flu. Remember when we were talking 3700% higher?

300 deaths by last Sunday. A thousand deaths by today.

Goalmouth, wife and I washed the canned goods and whatever else had a hard surface with sanitizing wipes after coming in from the store.
We also scrubbed our credit cards and our keys, any shit that was in our pockets at the time.
Our jackets are still out in the garage.

I'm only shopping at the 24-hour drugstore from now on and that only well past midnight.
