This is going to be the Democratic strategy? Jesus, they are tone deaf.

I mean, I get that that's a major problem and in normal times would be a major scandal, but it doesn't have to be that complicated. The Dems need to hammer him — angrily, loudly, Kavanaugh-esque — for his incompetent response that is literally resulting in people dying. They need to do this in a way that relates to what people are going though right now — that he's flat-out lying about the situation daily and doing it for the ratings, that he' pitting state against state, that he's telling his VP to talk to governors he doesn't want to talk to because they haven't been nice to him, that he thinks he's smarter than the scientists, that the GOP is basically a death cult that's promoting the sacrifice of old people and (if you heard Dr. Oz the other night) school children. They need to point out that your measly $1,200 is nothing compared to what big corporations are getting in bailouts and tax breaks.

They're so afraid to counter him during a crisis that he's totally mismanaged that they're going to let him control the narrative all the way through the election (if we even have one), but the right strategy is a slow response due to a trade deal with China? FFS.

This is a guy on Twitter. It's not a unified campaign message.

Say one thing for Roger Ailes, he had a much better feel for what an average American would respond to. Dems tend to overestimate our country's ability to think and be rational. Trade is a loser issue for a campaign, you have to make it about jobs and ability to live comfortably. Whether that is the result of a good trade deal or a bad one - nobody cares.

I have no idea, but I bet they can come up with more than one strategy.

There's another tweet from Axios right after that which says that is going to be the Dems' response to Trump claiming that Biden is "soft" on China. It sounds like it's more of a counterattack for one cheap talking point instead of a whole strategy.

If it was a whole strategy, then the Dems are being really stupid.

Democrats would be smart to understand that 50-percent of this country is Archie Bunker. They're don't read books; they watch TV. They didn't go to college and, if they did, they did what they had to do to get their degree and not get "indoctrinated." They're not woke. Many aren't overtly racist but grew up in racist families. Archie Bunker. 50-percent. Now go find a way to appeal to them.
