It is interesting that Jerry arrived just as folks elsewhere started about how we don't talk enough about Reade's accusations.

The timing of the accusation isn't the only red flag. Reade's story has changed. More importantly, she was still praising Biden on social media as recently as 2017. Why would she be posting that her former boss speaks the truth if her story about him is true? I understand not bad-mouthing him, but to go out of her way to back him up? It's not like she's accusing him of firing her without good reason. She's accusing him of sexual assault. You don't just put that aside for a moment just because he said something she liked.

I'm not saying she's lying. I'm saying I don't know and there isn't quite enough credibility there to disqualify him from running for president. That is even more true given that there are multiple women out there who still claim that President Trump sexually assaulted them and others who claim sexual harassment.

As I wrote earlier, it is this election's version of "but her emails." It is simple and easy to digest. It takes actual thought to even try to digest everything wrong with President Trump because there is so much with his disgusting comments about people in general, his past disgusting comments about women. the still-viable claims of sexual assault and harassment, the corruption, the incompetence, the constant lies and the horrible failure in handling the current pandemic. That's just a quick summary. "He's going senile" didn't work because President Trump doesn't sound any better, so now the focus is "but Tara Reade." It is packaging the attack for simple-minded voters, the people who make up a decent chunk of President Trump's support.

The other hope of Republicans is they can shame people into voting for third-party candidates or staying home and some Democrats really are going to be that stupid.

 

No word on whether any of them are part of the protective team, however.

People are going to take that attitude all over the country, including states that can go either way. That attitude is dangerous. That attitude gave us four years of Donald Trump and it could saddle is with four more. It is a wasted vote. It is choosing not to choose, because the only viable options are the Democratic nominee and the Republican nominee.

 

It might be difficult for a survivor to vote for either candidate. That is all I mean.

Survivors have taken outspoken roles both in support of Reade and in defense of Biden. Just a fact note.

Meaning, a virus that disproportionately kills people he dislikes. Therefore, it's all good and shouldn't be stopped as long as his klansmen and women can get their nails done and go to a Gulf Coast beach.
