President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

The ACA was centrist by normal standards, but by the standards of conventional Washington politics it was anything but. It is my opinion that Obama's main fault was that he was very reluctant or even unable to see things for being as bad as they were. The extent of the recession, the nature of his Republican opposition, his relations with Putin, all of it. This led him to stances that seemed cautious but just may have been overoptimistic.

 

The president’s job is to manage risk. But Trump is the risk.

 

In other words, anything short of nuclear Armageddon is a brilliant success.

 

Nah. He knew. He didn't care. He liked the idea of being president. And he was good at the idea of it. He proved that, if you're good at that part, a lot of the national media backs off for a good eight years.
