    If you get X months of severance pay, you can’t file for unemployment (and show up in the count) until X months after your last day of work.

    So while I’m unemployed, I’m not being counted for a few more months. How many people who were laid off are in similar situations?

    Correct. I actually got laid off in December with some severance. I got into the system in late March.

    The numbers at the start of July and August most likely will be more startling. But as things reopen, they probably will go down in the numbers reported at the start of September and October. The October report will be the last one reported before the election.

    And how many still in the administration are all thinking - if I leave who will be around to keep "that" maniac from getting the President's ear. They can all play these little moral games with themselves - the truth is they are all complicit.
