Jacksonville has both an arena and a stadium Trump can fill with crowds to cheer him. The rest of the convention need not happen at all. In fact, much of it will still take place in Charlotte. There aren't nearly enough hotel rooms in Jacksonville for a real national convention.

Peter Coyote: June 1, 2020 began like most days of the Trump presidency: with a volley of angry tweets. On that day, Trump's twitter feed included assaults against Antifa, Joe Biden (who he referred to as sleepy several times) and most memorably, an all-caps tweet that simply read November 3rd, the date of the upcoming election.

If the tweets were nothing unique, the context of June 1 certainly was. On that day, nationwide protests concerning George Floyd a black Minneapolis man who died at the hands of police had been going on for days, including in the nation's capital. In addition, the Coronvavirus pandemic continued to rage unabated, killing more than 100,000 up to that point. A pandemic the president had stopped publicly discussing weeks ago.

In the early evening of June 1, Trump decided to make himself the focus of national attention again by ordering federal police to forcibly remove protesters from Lafayette Square across from the White House. The removal cleared a path for him to make a showy walk to a nearby Episcopal Church where he awkwardly held a Bible aloft for the cameras.

Trump ended June 1 just as he began it, on Twitter. He retweeted dozens of accounts after the church photo-op.

He will not concede. He will sue. And then he will encourage all his klan to “exercise your God-given 2A rights” to kill Biden.

No. He doesn't have the guts to push all the chips into the pot for a situation where he himself could be killed. Look at his reaction to unarmed demonstrators.

Trump campaign just sent a letter to CNN demanding that the network retract and apologize for its poll showing Biden leading leading Trump by 14 points.

He hired Hope. And he changes staffers like socks. So he's more hopey-changey than Obama.

Election drawing ever closer and this is how Trump demands the campaign spend its time instead of figuring out how to get more votes. Of course, everyone in the campaign is just skimming with all their might and doing nothing else, but this is just like Colbert, Kimmel, Samantha Bee, et. al. bribed them to do it. A cheap laugh for the rest of us.
