    Oh, I know.

In my younger days it was a goal to work there in a certain capacity.

The only book I ever stole was Nicholas and Alexandra, by Robert K. Massie.

I returned it to its rightful place 20 or so years later.

The memo isn't "signed" by anyone, and there's no evidence that Trump ever considered it.

The only indication he didn't consider it is the denial of his flunkies, who are fucking liars.

Yeah. It might have been a pie-in-the-sky draft written and floated by some young Nazi in Kelly's office and not even seen by Kelly for all we know. On the other hand, court of public opinion can be a bitch sometimes.

The AP's latest write-thru doesn't even attempt to claim that either Kelly or Trump ever saw the memo or considered the plan:

Despite the AP's public release of the document, White House spokesman Sean Spicer said there was "no effort at all to utilize the National Guard to round up unauthorized immigrants." A DHS official described the document as a very early draft that was not seriously considered and never brought to Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly for approval.

AP Exclusive: DHS weighed Nat Guard for immigration roundups

If the AP has good sources, how come no source puts the memo in Kelly's hand or on Trump's desk?

The memo is from Kelly. Is he saying his name was stuck on there without his consent?

Jesus Christ. I thought we'd be at the point by now where we all acknowledge what a Spicer denial means, which is nothing.

If it's from Kelly, why can't the AP say so?

It's not that Spicer denied it. The AP doesn't claim it.

    The AP story:

Administration officials said the proposal, which called for mobilizing up to 100,000 troops in 11 states, was rejected, and would not be part of plans to carry out President Donald Trump's aggressive immigration policy.

If it was rejected, it means it got to them. You've been going on and on about how we don't even know if this is a real memo. We know it is and we know they considered it.

There's all sorts of reasons why I don't think a church should have a police force, but the math should work out if they're having off-duty cops spend enough time there that they could essentially have a full-time employee. Usually when you hire an off-duty cop, you're doing so through the police or sheriff's departments. You have to pay the cops wage - which at a minimum will be time and a half - to the agency, plus what ever administrative surcharge they tack on. It's entirely reasonable that you could be spending $50,000 to $60,000 to get essentially 40 hours a week coverage, when you could spend say $35,000 on salary and $10,000 on benefits and come out ahead.

The memo explicitly states that its from John Kelly, and nobody else, and you think Kelly never saw it?

Just like you also thought the AP never saw it, right?
