Apparently in the White House basement, the numbers crunchers are worried that while there was a zero percent chance Sessions could lose to Jones, there is a non-zero, like maybe as high as 25 percent, that Tuberville could. If this story was leaked by Mitch McConnell I wouldn't be a bit surprised.

 

Jesus Christ. You have no idea how bad Tubs is. He basically hid for the last two or three weeks, evaded the press. He refused to debate Sessions. (This has become the new Republican game here. Lt. Gov. Ivey became Gov. when Bentley was indicted. In the following primary she refused to debate any of the Republican challengers, then she refused to debate Walt Maddox, the Democratic candidate.)

His basic campaign spiel is kissing Trump's ass, bible thumping, gun waving and no amnesties ever, with that platform executed by a guy who has never run for office before.

I know that doesn't play well in SEC country, but it's true.

 

It's going to be a fascinating race/finish. There are probably few who think Jones was going to win again, and if the flips happen elsewhere it won't really matter but hard to believe it's at this point.
