President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

Fox News apparently just called Arizona for Biden. Probably the first best good news for them all night and establishes a viable Plan B (no pun intended) that has been clearly mentioned here previously.

 

Was that expected?
Is that biden's first 'win'?

 

There do seem to be some indications of that when it comes to the Latino/Hispanic vote. But there is so much that we don't know. For one, people are basing their analysis off 2016, which was a completely different race. Two, votes have been submitted in a completely different method this year. We have millions upon millions of mail-in ballots, many of which won't be counted until tomorrow.

You can't analyze whether the polls were wrong or not until all of the information is in. This election and the circumstances surrounding it are so different that viewing it as a typical horse race and using previous elections as backdrops is a huge disservice.

Read the folks at 538, if you aren't already. They've noted some of those same inconsistencies and early results. But they are steadfastly refusing to draw any conclusions without more info.

The polls said it was in Biden's favor prior to the election.

It would be his first major win, because it is a flip from 2016. Nothing from 2016 has been flipped yet in either direction.

 

And a Senate seat in Az as well.

 

What people say in public is spin.

 

If Trump wins, then yes, Nate can go away forever. But that's getting a little ahead of ourselves.

 

A lot of this negativity too, is because a lot of us, including your’s truly, were rooting for an utter landslide because Trump has been such a piece of shit on practically everything, we wanted a blowout to justify our anger and to be a full repudiation of everything Trump. And, even if Biden wins, we’re not going to get that satisfying blowout win.
