In 2016 you could walk from Florida to Idaho and never set foot in a blue county.

    In 2020 nothing's changed.

It’s not quite as much schadenfreude as I’d like, but I’ll take it.

Trump is ahead by 300,000 votes in Michigan. If he gets that, Pennsylvania and Georgia, he's at 284.

I disagree. It's confusing and impossible to keep track of everything, but nothing has happened that was truly nonsensical. The way things were going to be counted was laid out and could be looked up. Seeing that play out over hours and even days lends itself to lots of theories, but I think it's all explicable so far.

Please don't make me type the whole thing explaining the order of county election day versus early ballots for the 20th time tonight (I hang out on a lot of message boards).

Like, maybe I'll look like an idiot in a day or two. Wouldn't be the first time.

But we *just* saw all the states that counted early votes first shift wildly from blue to red when they switched to counting election day ballots. Ohio did it, Iowa did it, North Carolina did it.

Now realize that Wisconsin and Michigan do the opposite counting order.

Those leads are from today’s votes and primarily in the rural areas with the huge metro areas and mail in ballots still to be counted
