The continuing refusal to hold Republicans or conservatives responsible for Trump is quite a thing.

They and their ancestors liked Batista, though.

They don't have a problem with despots as long as they're ultra-right-wing despots.

Everyone remember when Bush was the devil incarnate? People like Bill Maher have expressed regret over crying wolf at that.

I fear what would be worse than Trump. But I don't dare doubt someone like could come along and win an election anymore.

    IMO, you're just missing it.

It was set up to be a blue wave. You may see millions of folks switched from Trump in 2016 to Biden, and a lot of those folks will be white, suburban voters. The fact that Trump added many more voters elsewhere is an indication that folks actively rejected whatever the Democrats were selling. This was much closer to a stalemate than anyone imagined and, again, it's a warning. There's something wrong with the blue pitch and new voters are actively voting against it.

And why were the Democrats unable to sell them? How do you appeal to someone who still thinks Trump is a-ok?

Continuing a long, storied tradition for pretty much every group in America. "Okay, now that *we're* here, close the fucking door!" Or if you prefer, the NIMBYs at Zoning Board hearings.

Missouri pined for a B1G invitation for years, but when it looked like the Big XII was about to implode, Mizzou jumped at the chance to join the SEC money train (even though they're the caboose in that regard).

George Bush committed one of the largest foreign policy blunders in this country's history, at a cost of thousands of lives and trillions of dollars, and also presided over an economic collapse rivaled only by the great depression.

That we look at him today and say, "ehhh he wasn't that bad," tells you exactly how awful Donald Trump is.
